Fitler Square isn’t just the name of the neighborhood, it’s also a public park located at 23rd & Pine Streets. While the park may be most well-known for its iconic animal statues & the Victorian-era fountain, the farmer’s market is the main attraction in the neighborhood each Saturday morning all year round. The Royer is within the boundaries of the famed Rittenhouse Square neighborhood. What makes the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood most noteworthy is Rittenhouse Square itself. Located in Center City at 19th & Walnut, the park spans two short blocks on each side, therefore creating a picturesque respite with in the city’s hustle & bustle. Iconically referred to as “the square”, the perimeter streets are lined with top-rated restaurants, luxury hotels & residences and high-end retailers.

Also located on the Rittenhouse campus is Penn Therapy & Fitness which specializes in occupational, physical & speech therapy.

The Schuylkill River Park has a lot to offer at its waterfront location - a dog park, a playground, a pool, green space, a community garden, in addition to much more for the neighborhood. The dog park features a fountain and has separate areas for small and large dogs. You can apply for a neighborhood garden plot, but there is a waitlist, since it is a popular feature of the park. Schuylkill River Park is the perfect place to explore on a nice day in the city.

The world-renown Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia has a strong presence in the neighborhood, with the Roberts Center for Pediatric Research expanding the Philadelphia skyline. The innovative building stands tall at the base of the South Street bridge with its own entrance to the Schuylkill River Trail. The completion of the Roberts Center marks the first step in a long-term plan to transform the east banks of the Schuylkill River.

Tucked into a corner created by several streets intersecting, the Catharine Thorn Fountain is at the center of the quintessential city park located at 23rd & South Streets & Gray’s Ferry Avenue. The historic fountain dates back to the late 1800s, used as a watering hole for the neighbors' horses. The fountain and triangle have recently been revitalized by the South Of South Neighborhood Association (SOSNA) and, as a result, is a highlight of the neighborhood.
